Frequently asked questions

Where is my data stored?

On your iPhone only — locally. If you turn on iCloud backup, it also lives in your private Apple iCloud container. We don't have servers.

I switched phones — how do I move my data?

Turn on iCloud backup on the old phone, sign into the same Apple ID on the new phone, install Pillkin, and turn on iCloud backup. Your data appears.

Notifications aren't arriving.

Open Settings → Notifications in the app. If you see a red banner saying "Notifications off," tap it — it opens iOS Settings where you can re-enable notifications for Pillkin.

Does the Live Activity always run?

It starts automatically when your next dose is within 60 minutes, and ends when you mark the dose taken or skipped.

What does "Late" mean?

If you mark a dose more than 30 minutes after its scheduled time, it's tagged "Late" instead of "Taken." It still counts toward your adherence, but the Reports view will show late doses separately so you can spot patterns.

Can my family see my medications?

Only if you turn on Settings → Data → Share with family and explicitly invite them via the system share sheet. By default, no.

I want to back up to a file.

Coming soon. For now, iCloud backup is the supported path.

I want to delete everything.

Settings → Data → "Delete all data" → confirm twice. Immediate and irreversible.

Is Pillkin medical advice?

No. Pillkin is a reminder tool. It does not diagnose, treat, or recommend medications. Always consult your doctor or pharmacist.
